The Hawking Range Extender set up easily as advertised, and performed well for a few weeks. Then it operated intermittently for a while, eventually failing completely.

MARVELOUS SOLUTION
Needed to reach back porch. Opened the box, plugged into my router, ran software; 8 clicks later, configured and done.
Unplugged from router. Mounted the unit in back hallway halfway between router and porch and received perfect signal where before I had none.

RANGE EXTENDER WORKS WELL
Initial setup was a little confusing, as several other reviews had mentioned; but we had it up and running within 30 minutes of opening the box. It has definitely improved the strength of wireless signal in the distant sections of our home (working well for iPhone as well as wireless G PC's).

EASY SETUP, WORKS WITH MY VERIZON FIOS WIRELESS ROUTER
Got this today and had it up and running in 10 minutes. Followed the setup instructions then plugged the extender in as far away from the router as I could.
